The LOOK show is the high street event of the year, where even the crowd looks catwalk-worthy. The place was buzzing with eager fashionistas and our fab photobooth was a runaway success (more on this soon). We snapped some of the stylish people we spotted milling around on Friday, don’t you love their outfits?!
There’s only one day left till the Spring Summer 2011 LOOK show so we thought we’d bring you a sneak peek of what to expect tomorrow…
LOOK’s Deputy Fashion Editor Jodie Nellist came into our press showroom to pick our some of her favourite pieces for the catwalk event. She swooped straight for the pink and orange tunic dress saying “I love the pink dress, colour blocking is key for S/S ’11 and I’d definitely wear this.” Seems like we might be seeing this frock on the LOOK show catwalk tomorrow!
If you want to give the colour-blocking trend a go then try our tunic dresses in a range of mouthwatering colours: blue, orange or pink, which one will you pick?!
FROM LEFT>> Blue tunic dress: £26.99. Pink tunic dress: £26.99. Orange tunic dress: £26.99.

The lovely Erin from Wings To Fly was our other LOOK show winner, read on for her account of the day!
I was one very happy (and lucky!) bunny recently when I got an email from New Look telling me I’d won a pair of tickets to The Look Show – an event hosted by Look magazine showcasing the hottest collections for Autumn/Winter from all our high street favourites. I’d never been to a fashion show of any description before so it’s true to say I was positively bursting with excitement before the big day!
I didn’t have much idea about what to expect so I spent ages umm-ing and ahh-ing over what to wear. As New Look had given me the tickets, I thought I should show my loyalty and so plumped for my New Look t-shirt, skirt and jacket. This is the ensemble I eventually ended up in…
Blogger Clara won our LOOK show competition, where she was dispatched to be our roving reporter, read on for her account of the day!
The 70’s tailored look was spotted a few times. Perfect for office attire! There was a distinct nod to the alpine Nordic forests with patterned jumpers. Just make sure you belt up that jumper and accentuate your waist with a thin belt. Fur extended to the feet too with tough lace-up boots lined with sheepskin making them look oh-so-comfortable to wear.
The show featured collections from: Dorothy Perkins, Monsoon, H&M, Mango, New Look, French Connection, Next, River Island, Oasis, M&S and Warehouse, and I was glad to see a full range of different sized models. I think we had a whole selection from size six to probably a size 14. Good work Look magazine, glad to see you’re actually representing the British ladies in all our wonderful shapes and sizes!

We took our seats and snapped up the goody bag. Thank you lovely sponsors, it was full of goodies. Useful bits too: umbrella, beanie, Benefit lipstick and more!
So, what trends are emerging this season on the high street? Snuggly, warm, fuzzy trends that’s what. The fashion gods have finally answered my prayers and being comfortable is IN! Think cable-knits, faux-fur coats, in fact think fur-anything and you are so on track. Fur gilets, stoles, hats and bobbles reined supreme on the catwalk.
Make-up seemed to favour the 90’s Goth look: plumy lips and brown smoky eyes, and hair was predominantly swept off the face. After the show we saw performances from Diana Vickers and Gabriella Cilmi – they were both pretty good. We also both got a lovely hand massage from a lovely man from Jergens naturals and got a complimentary mini make-over from the Benefit girls, thank you!
The best bit? Unlike the rest of the shows at LFW, all the clothes we saw are available now! No waiting around until next year to see the trends trickle down to the high street. Get involved ladies!
